Blue Moon-ing

In a few hours, we will be welcoming 2010 with a Blue Moon. Yes, you read it right. We will be having the second full moon, commonly called as the "blue moon". Experts said that we last experienced it 20 years ago and will not be existent in 2028 or 2029.

As we do our countdown for 2010, let's do a recap of 2009:

*** 1st quarter:
- officially started with the wedding preps. Booked CTK and got our w.rings from My Diamond.
- celebrated our anniversary by going on a shopping spree for the whole month of Feb.

*** 2nd quarter:
- "meet the family" = pamamanhikan
- Mom was accidentally struck by a coconut. Literal buco from the tree!!! made us rush her to the hospital.
- dreaded having Acute Urticaria for weeks that made me a home - based for weeks.
- found out a major error in my Baptismal Certificate. Chancery has been my best friend for months.

*** 3rd quarter:
- Cory Aquino died on August
- my 29th birth life
- Cebu trip with Neng and the geng
- Traumatic flooding and rainfall was experienced in Manila and the rest of Luzon. Ondoy & Pepeng drastically hit Pinas , killing hundreds and living thousand homeless.

*** 4th quarter:
- Finally watched "Fire Proof" at Rockwell with Ninja
- An office mate was taken by the Lord in last few days of october
- Relatives from Canada and US arrived to spend the holidays and for my wedding.

Now, on the last 5 hours of 2009, I have so much to be thankful for. God has showered me with wonderful blessings. I feel truly loved by my family and friends. This is marks the last 5 hours of being single. As I wave goodbye to my singlehood and 2009,

I wish everyone a blessed 2010!

Amonn Velasco

I shifted to one gown maker to another, good thing Amonn embraced me even with a short notice. I looove him for that. With his magic sketches, I'll be a beautiful bride -- without doubt.

He will also transform mommy to a very elegant Mother of the Bride. My dad lovesssss what he sketched for mom. Thank you Amonn! =)

Short kwento, I wasn't too happy with what my first gown maker did -- she didn't follow what we discussed from the cloth to the other details and because of that, I pulled out my gown the last minute. Thank God talaga that Amonn welcomed my even he has a few months left to create my wedding gown.

Alkaline Water

Day 1 for my Alkaline water routine . This is for my urticaria treatment and I'm hoping this will help. In my researches, I have learned that the following are the benefits of alkaline water:

1. Helps wash toxins out our body.

2. Helps improve our kidneys by cleansing our kidneys.

3. Alkaline water and proper exercise helps in washing our fats and cholesterol. This is helpful for those who are losing weight.

4. Helps in aiding skin allergies, eczema and other skin problems.

5. lessens the sign of aging.

6. helps in indigestion problems

7. improves our taste for food

8. helps us consume nutrients from all our food intake

9. some said that it help them improve their clarity of mind and energy.

Alkaline water is now available in most H20 stations and an alternative is to squeeze some lemons in your drinking water.

Love Love Love

I have been searching for a Victoria Secret bag here in Manila. Unfortunately, I can't find any... but wait, my drooling is now over. My lola just arrived from Canada and gave me my VS bag. yippeee.. it's not the color that I wanted but still it's my dream bag. Babaw ko noh. ahaha

In real life talaga, God doesn't give us exactly what we want, He gives us something close to what we want to happen or what to have. From there, dapat matutuo tayo makuntento sa mga bagay na meron tayo.

And from this simple bag and other wonderful things/events, I consider myself lucky because in the middle of crisis and natural calamaties, here I am getting my dreams in the palm of my hand. Thank you Lord for all of these! =)

Success!

One Hell of a very busy but successful week for Team Ninja & Princess. Stress was killing me the whole week, good thing I was able to pull it off. I was in the verge of throwing tantrums na tlaga until good things kept on coming our way. God is really great!

Here are our accomplishments for the week:

1) Finally, after three loooooong months, I got the decree from the Chancery /Diocesan Tribunal of Novaliches that I have been longing for. I'm now holding an error- free Baptismal Certificate. Tuloy na Tuloy na ang kasal!

2) Ninja was able to secure a copy of his Birth Certificate from the Civil Registry of Paranaque

3) Our ento had their measurements taken by our gown maker and paid 50% of the cost.

4) Dad had his suit done by the famous Mang Bonnie of Kamuning, who is currently making a suit for Noynoy Aquino. I forgot the designer's name, sorry Mr. Designer.

5) H2b had his Confirmation na din pala sa San Miguel Church.

6) Had confirmed our schedule for our Pre - Cana

Whoa! Clap clap clap! Very good.

More to come! Meetings/ Finalization of details with our suppliers will start next week.

Be with the Lord

After a tragic storm brought by Ondoy last week that claimed lives of hundreds of Filipinos and leaving a thousand homeless, now, we are under the rage of the powerful Pepeng that is currently hitting the northen part of Luzon. In these times, prayers has been helpful in saving many lives. I have friends who have been directly affected, who has not yet recovered and still in the state of trauma.

Lord, we raise all these to you. Continue to protect us and keep us safe all through the night. Forgive us for not being a good steward of your dear earth. Please continue to give us a chance to rebuild nature and our lives.

Thank you for the outpouring blessings that the Filipino community and other countries are giving in these sad times.

This we pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Up north

Growing up, summer vacations meant going home to Laoag. I will never forget a picture of me on top of a carabao near the river... A kalesa ride. .Rolling tabako for Lola Julia. These were my fond memories of Ilocos.

From our recent trip up north with our clan, same addictive laughter filled the house. Memories started to barge in and left us smiling the whole time. Those were the moments I'd always look back and cherish for the rest of my life.

CenterTable Catering

Food is the main attraction to any event. Giving us a reason to splurge on our food / catering budget and scrimp on other items on our list. We don't want to compromise anything with regards to a hungry stomach. Our motto is to satisfy the hungry.

Catering hunt is the most I've enjoyed. Why? Because I looove to eat and I like to examine my taste buds. Plus this means free food. We attended 3 food tastings and we both had difference views about each one of them. One was so-so; the other was gourmet-ish and yummy (but is not available on our day) and last one was the best.....that is why we booked them.

I never had second thoughts about CenterTable. I know that we made the right choice. All the reviews in w@w was really heartwarming.

OTD: Janice Dadap

Finally!!! I was able to book our On-The-Day coordinator. Yipee! I must admit that I had a long list in mind.

Why Janice Dadap? Went to hear Sunday mass at CTK with my mom and after the 12noon mass, a wedding was set right after. We watched the preps and while everyone was busy fixing the flowers, altar, etc, I talked to the coordinator and asked for their calling card. It took me awhile before I inquired but I had this "this is it" feel na. Ayun, after 3 emails lang ata and searched the w@w archives about her... ayun, I booked her na.

All nice feedbacks from w@wies sis who got her also as their otd, same with sa Girl talk.....And maybe she's meant to be my otd kasi I met her sa CTK mismo. Sign yun ni JC skin.

Cebu: Food trip

If you are on a diet, don't go to Cebu!!! why? because we gained at least 5lbs from that trip.... lip smacking ng pagkain nila dun at super mura

Our first stop was at Joven's Grill, but due to hunger, we don't have any pictures to prove our yummy feast. Eat all you can for only php169 including bottomless drinks!! wagi!

Then, we headed to CNT Lechon. What is a Cebu trip without eating a authentic Cebu Lechon!!! mouthwatering! no sarsa needed. Actually, they use toyo-suka as sawsawan.

php 320/ kilo (Aug 2009 rate)

Lani & Masson recommended Casa Verde for a cozy dinner. I must say their baby back ribs -- a must! see pics below

after

Cebu: Day 3

This is the famous Mactan Bridge that connected the City of Cebu to Mandaue.

After checking in our bags at the airport, we headed straight to Tambuli Beach Resort for a day tour worth PhP 350.00 consumable for food and drinks.

Taxi: PhP 160.00 for a metered taxi from the airport
PhP 200.00 fixed rate from Tambuli resort to the airport

We are not very happy with the decision of visiting Tambuli. Why? the food was not as great as I thought it would be. Much better pa ang baby back ribs ng Casa Verde. And we ordered for Tenderloin steak but Chicken Cordon Bleu was served instead. We didn't made the effort to have it change since we are running out of time. It could have been better if we went to Maribago Beach resort na lang sana. Now, we know.
